am looking at buying a bay-liner trophy 2000 walk around with a Mercury on the back?
is it a good boat "handling performance ect"and are the older mercs reliable??? any ideas would be much appriechated

- as boats go....Bayliner is a low end , first time boat buyer type of boat. Thier fiberglass is thin and weak and does not last. The older mercs can be good engines depending on how well it was taken care of. Have a compression and a leak down test done on the cylinders.
- I lived on the lake all my life Merc is highquality. and Bayliner is low end. Maybe the new Bayliners are better but man they made em cheap as can be for years.
- Bay-liner quality sucks, Check the floors and the transom, Bay-liner uses the poorest quality of wood, and don't last long, MERC engines are top of the line.
