9.9 racing propeller?
i have a 1995 johnson 9.9 2-stroke that i put on a 8'6'' inflatable boat. last year i got a refurbished stock michigan prop for it. with me in the boat the thing fly's at about 25mph. i was wondering if anyone knew what brand of propeller would make a high performance or racing propeller for the 1995 johnson 9.9.

- http://www.apba-racing.com/Categories/J/JuniorClasses.html There are a few links within this site - Seems there is a bit of stuff for the 15 hp engines - but they are using a modified lower leg, not the stock one. The stock leg is too large and has too much drag for higher speeds without big problems. That is a very high speed for the power with a stock engine/leg and non-hydro hull, further speeds will be incremental and increasingly hard to get. The inflatable with a soft bottom will be creating more drag than a rigid structure - check your speed with a GPS to confirm but that is pretty impressive performance. Good luck.
- Choice of propellers is a art form not and one size fit's all type thing. Basically you have 2 and 3 blade props, made by the major supplier like Michigan props or OMC (BRP). These come in about 3 different pitches. Bottom line it seams that you are getting very good performance from your new prop. a change in pitch may or may not improve it, but my sense is that it would actually be worse. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
