what happens to the fluid speed between two boats side by side in a flowing river?
Public Comments
- the fluid speed remain constant
- Well maybe the same and maybe not. If the two boats are close together they will block the flow with a little bow wave and that will raise the water elevation ahead of the boats a bit so the water will tend to pile up and with a slightly greater slope, the speed will pick up a bit until the obstructions are past. But if the are far enough apart, the bow waves will be local to each and the water speeds will vary a bit. This is inexact since the variable distance between the boats as well at the water speed and stuff is unknown.
